THE NEW GATE Anime Reveals Premiere Date, New Visual and Cast

Are you ready to enter THE NEW GATE? The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Shinogi Kazanami’s light novels is set to premiere on April 13 at 25:30 JST (effectively April 14 at 1:30) in Japan. Along with the announcement, a new key visual and casting information for two main characters were revealed.

The anime is directed by Tamaki Nakatsu, known for his work on The Irregular at Magic High School, and produced by studios CLOUDHEARTS and Yokohama Animation Lab. The series composition is handled by Hiroki Uchida, with character designs by Itsuki Takemoto and music composed by Yuya Mori, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Misaki Tsuchida, and Tsugumi Tanaka.

One Peace Books, which publishes Yoshiyuki Miwa’s manga adaptation, describes the story of THE NEW GATE: “An online game transformed into a life-and-death struggle for its players. Thanks to the valiant efforts of Shin, the most powerful of them all, an end to the game and freedom for everyone seemed within reach. But just moments after Shin defeats the game’s final boss, he finds himself bathed in an unknown light and transported some 500 years into the future of the in-game world. Thrown from a simple game gone wrong into a strange new land, one young swordsman of unrivalled strength is about to embark on a legendary journey!”

The casting announcement reveals Lynn (Miorine in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) as Rionne Sytrail Bayrelict and Yuki Hoshi as Kagerou. They join the already announced main cast members Kensho Ono, Asami Seto, and Kaede Hondo.
