Exciting news for fans of Sakaku Hishikawa’s light novel series “The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows”! An anime adaptation is officially in the works, and an announcement PV has been released on Shochiku’s official anime YouTube channel.

The novel, which was first published on the Japanese novel self-publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou in November 2020, has been gaining popularity since its print edition was released from SB Creative’s GA Novel imprint in October 2021. The series has now printed over 200,000 copies and an English edition has been licensed by J-Novel Club.

The story follows Zenos, a healer who was born in the slums and has struggled to make a name for himself in a world that seems determined to hold him back. Despite his talents, he’s been treated poorly by his teammates and eventually kicked out. Undeterred, Zenos decides to open an underground clinic where he can use his self-taught skills to help those in need. Word of his incredible abilities quickly spreads, even reaching the royal palace, and he becomes a sought-after healer in the city’s shadowy underbelly.

Sakaku Hishikawa, the author of the novel series, expressed his gratitude towards the fans and everyone involved in the project, saying that he never dreamed that his story would become an anime. He also shared celebratory illustrations from the novel’s illustrator Daburyu and the manga’s illustrator Ten Junoichi on Twitter.
