WIND BREAKER Anime Sets Premiere Date With Additional Cast, New Trailer

The latest updates for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Satoru Nii’s action brawler manga, WIND BREAKER, have been revealed. The official site and social channels have received a major update with a new trailer, cast additions, a new key visual, and confirmation of the opening and ending theme performers.

The second trailer provides a sneak peek into the anime’s opening and ending themes. Singer Natori will perform the electrifying opening theme “Absolute Zero,” while singer Young Kee will deliver a powerful performance for the ending theme “Invincibility.” The anime is now set to premiere on April 4 across Japanese TV stations.

In addition to the trailer and theme reveals, several new cast members have been announced, including Taiga Tsugeura voiced by Kengo Kawanishi, Mitsuki Kiryu voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Kotoha Tachibana voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa.

According to Kodansha USA, which publishes the manga’s official English version, WIND BREAKER follows Haruka Sakura, who seeks only the strongest of the strong. He has just started at Furin High School, a school known for its brawling strength and use of violence to protect their town from those who wish them harm. However, Haruka is not interested in being a hero or part of any team; he simply wants to fight his way to the top!

Takashi Miike’s New Short Film Midnight Adapts Osamu Tezuka, Shot Entirely on iPhone 15 Pro

Introduction:
Midnight, one of the lesser-known works of manga master Osamu Tezuka, has been brought to life in a new short film. Directed by Takashi Miike and filmed entirely on the iPhone 15 Pro, the 19-minute movie follows the story of Midnight, a mysterious taxi driver who encounters strange passengers during his late-night drives.

Plot:
The film stars Kento Kaku as Midnight, a lone taxi driver who roams the streets of Tokyo at night. One of his passengers, Kaede (played by Konatsu Kato), is on the run from her father’s killer. As Midnight drives her to safety, they encounter a series of strange and eerie events that challenge their perceptions of reality.

Cameos:
Takashi Miike himself has a cameo in the film as Kaede’s late father in a flashback. The film also features Yukiyoshi Ozawa as Kaede’s father’s killer.

Shinkalion Change The World Anime New Trailer Reveals Premiere Date, Opening Theme

The highly anticipated anime series, Shinkalion Change The World, has finally revealed its Japanese premiere date of April 7, 2024. The second main trailer was released today, giving fans a glimpse into the exciting adventures that await the characters in this latest installment of the Shinkalion franchise.

The trailer introduces the anime’s opening theme song, “Senkou Hayabusa,” performed by the four-member Japanese vocal group GReeeeN for the first time. The group was formed by four active dentists in 2002 and has been providing theme songs for other popular anime series such as Kaina of the Great Snow Sea (2023) and The Gene of AI (2023).

The main voice cast includes talented actors such as Hiiro Ishibashi, Kensho Ono, Shinba Tsuchiya, Hana Tamegai, Kaede Hondo, Chikahiro Kobayashi, and Eri Kitamura. The main staff consists of experienced professionals such as Director Kenichiro Komaya, Series Composition Eiji Umehara, Sub-series Composition Daisuke Ishibashi, Character Design by Shiori Asaka and Niina Morita, Mechanical Design by Akira Kirishiki, Sound Director Masafumi Mima, Music by Yugo Kanno, and Animation Production by Signal M.D. and Production I.G.

The franchise’s previous TV series, Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion The Animation, aired for 76 episodes from January 2018 to June 2019, and the sequel feature film, Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Movie: The Marvelous Fast ALFA-X That Comes From the Future, was released on December 27, 2019. The second TV series, Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z, aired for 41 episodes from April 2021 to March 2022.

Shinkalion Change The World is described as a thrilling adventure that follows the story of Taisei Ohnari, a second-year junior high school student who transfers to Shinkai Gakuen Middle School in search of clues about his older sister who disappeared two years ago. When the Unknown suddenly appears, Taisei discovers he has a high aptitude value as a Shinkarion pilot and is forced to make a decision to fight it. The story will unfold the truth behind the Unknown’s appearance and the growth of the boys.
