Call of the Night Anime Season 2 Officially Announced

The wait is finally over, as the sequel to the popular anime series, Call of the Night, has been officially announced! While there’s no release date yet, we can feast our eyes on a new teaser trailer and visual that promises another exciting adventure with Ko and Nazuna.

The visual features the tagline “The night isn’t over yet,” hinting at the endless possibilities of their late-night escapades. The anime is based on the manga series by Kotoyama, which has already concluded its run. However, the success of the first season has led to the greenlighting of a second season, with director Tomoyuki Itamura returning to helm the project at studio LIDEN FILMS. Sora Amamiya and Gen Sato will reprise their roles as the central duo, Ko and Nazuna.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Call of the Night follows Ko, a high school student who is fascinated by the night and its secrets. When he meets the enigmatic Nazuna, they embark on a series of late-night adventures filled with excitement, conversation, and naps. However, things take an interesting turn when a cute girl from Ko’s past appears and threatens to disrupt their blossoming relationship with the undead.

VIZ Media publishes the official English version of the manga, which describes the story as: “One sleepless night, Ko slips out to walk the streets. Life after dark is a revelation! When flirtatious Nazuna invites Ko to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them… Is it just the delicious taste of his blood that makes her meet him night after night for late-night adventures, conversation and…naps? Or something else? Then, when a cute girl from Ko’s past shows up and competes for his attention, his budding relationship with the undead is put to the test!”
