Boukyaku Battery TV Anime Steps Up to the Plate on April 9

Boukyaku Battery, the upcoming TV anime based on the popular baseball manga, has released two new trailers showcasing the opening and ending themes for the series. The first trailer features the opening theme song “Lilac” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE, while the second trailer showcases the ending theme song “Wasurena Uta” (Forgotten Song) by Macaroni Empitsu.

The anime adaptation of Boukyaku Battery is directed by Masato Nakasono at animation studio MAPPA, with Tsuyoshi Iida serving as assistant director. The character designs are provided by Hitomi Hasegawa, while the music is composed by Tomoki Kikuya and Hiroko Yamasaki.

The story of Boukyaku Battery follows Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname, two talented young baseball players who were once an unstoppable pitcher/catcher battery in middle school. However, Kei has suffered from amnesia and his athletic skills have reverted to the level of a rank amateur, causing him to enroll in an ordinary high school in Tokyo instead of attending an elite sports school.

With the release of these two trailers, fans are eagerly anticipating the anime adaptation of Boukyaku Battery, which is set to premiere on TV Tokyo and other networks on April 9, 2024.
