Title: Falcom Announces Tokyo Xanadu New Project, a Next-Generation Sequel to the Classic Action-RPG

Falcom, the renowned developer of the acclaimed Tokyo Xanadu series, has announced a new project to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary. Tentatively titled Tokyo Xanadu New Project, the game promises to offer a fresh take on the original formula with brand new mechanics and systems built from the ground up.

While no release window or game platform has been revealed, Falcom has confirmed that the game will share the same world as its predecessor but will take place in Kyoto instead. The teaser trailer released by Falcom offers a glimpse into the game’s protagonist, a young boy wielding dual swords, and features a cryptic message at the end referencing an important character from the original game, Rem.

Tokyo Xanadu was first released in Japan in 2015 for PC and PS4, followed by a worldwide release in 2017. A Switch version of the game launched in June 2023 for Japan and will be coming worldwide in June 2024. With the announcement of Tokyo Xanadu New Project, fans of the series are eagerly awaiting more details on this next-generation sequel.
