The fourth volume of the manga adaptation of Villainess Level 99, a light novel series by Satori Tanabata, has recently been released in Japan. The series, which began as a user-generated novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in June 2018, has reached a significant milestone with the total print run of the series reaching one million copies.
The manga adaptation, illustrated by Nokomi, began serialization in Enterbrain’s B’s Log Comic magazine in February 2020 and has been well-received by fans. To commemorate the release of the fourth volume, a special web commercial narrated by Fairouz Ai, who voices the protagonist Yumiella Dolkness in the anime adaptation, is now available on YouTube.
The TV anime adaptation of Villainess Level 99 premiered in Japan on January 9, 2024, and has also been simulcast on Crunchyroll for members in various regions. Crunchyroll describes the series as follows: “This college kid wants nothing more than a quiet life. So when she’s reborn as Yumiella, the hidden villainess of an Otome RPG, she’s not exactly thrilled. Still yearning for peace, she abandons her evil duties to live a more discreet life. Until her gamer side kicks in and she accidentally reaches level 99! Now, everyone suspects that she’s the infamous Demon Lord. What future awaits her?”
Congratulations to Satori Tanabata, Tea, Nokomi, and the entire “Villainess Level 99” Production Committee on this impressive achievement!
